Strengthening Local Government Digital Infrastructure in Anticipation of Cyber Attacks
Against growing threats of website defacement, the insertion of online gambling content, and ransomware targeting local government websites across Indonesia, Elitery in collaboration with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) has taken preventive steps to the field. Elitery’s Sales & Marketing Director Indra Dwiputra said the collaboration is a tangible follow-up to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a cooperation agreement (PKS) signed on 8 May 2025.
He explained that as part of a commitment to strengthen the government’s digital infrastructure, Elitery and BSSN will hold a cyber security roadshow in five provinces across 2026: Kepulauan Riau, South Sumatra, Lampung, Riau, and West Nusa Tenggara.
‘This step is necessary as many local government agencies still monitor websites manually, so cyber incident detection is often late and risks the reputations of institutions,’ Indra said in Jakarta on Tuesday (19 May 2026).
The inaugural roadshow was successfully held simultaneously on 6 May 2026 in two locations: Kepulauan Riau at Wan Seri Beni Hall, Dompak, Tanjungpinang, with the Provincial Diskominfio Incident Response Team and representatives of Regency/City governments of Kepri; and in Palembang, South Sumatra, attended by Diskominfio representatives from districts/cities in Sumatera Selatan.
During the roadshow, BSSN provided theoretical and practical guidance on handling defacement of online gambling and ransomware incidents. Meanwhile, Elitery presented EliteShield, an innovative automated website monitoring solution designed to detect cyber threats in real time.
‘Through EliteShield, local governments can move from manual monitoring to a modern protection system with advantages such as 24/7 automatic monitoring, real-time notifications, rapid responses tailored to operational needs, and precise, measurable recovery,’ Indra said.
He added that through strong synergy with BSSN, Elitery is fully committed to supporting local governments across Indonesia in building resilient, responsive, and trusted digital spaces to protect the public cyber space. (H-2)

OJK notes more than 370,000 reports of financial transaction fraud from January to November 2025, with potential losses reaching Rp8.2 trillion. OJK is ready to contribute and participate in preventing cybercrime in the financial services sector, and it is hoped that this cooperation will function as intended.
