Strengthening Law Enforcement Integrity, Bamsoet Receives KWP Awards 2026

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Bambang Soesatyo has received an award at the KWP Awards 2026 event organised by the Parliamentary Journalists’ Coordinating Body (KWP). The event was held in the Pustakaloka Room, Nusantara IV Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, today.

At the event, Bamsoet won in the category of ‘Legislator Driving Professionalism of Institutions and Law Enforcement Apparatus’. The award was given for Bamsoet’s consistency in promoting the strengthening of professionalism, integrity, and institutional capacity of law enforcement apparatus in Indonesia, from the National Police (Polri), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), to the Attorney General’s Office.

“I interpret this award as a mandate as well as a reminder that efforts to strengthen the professionalism of law enforcement apparatus must continue to be consistently and sustainably monitored,” Bamsoet stated in his remarks on Thursday (16/4/2026).

This 20th Speaker of the House of Representatives stated that the challenges of law enforcement in Indonesia today are no longer simple. The complexity of crimes, from corruption, cybercrime, to cross-border criminal acts, demands that law enforcement apparatus work more professionally and adaptively.

Data from various institutions also records that public trust in legal institutions remains fluctuating. Therefore, sustained efforts are needed to improve the integrity and capacity of the apparatus.

Bamsoet revealed that the House of Representatives through its legislative and oversight functions plays a strategic role in ensuring that legal reforms run smoothly. Various amendments to laws, institutional strengthening, and budget support become important instruments to strengthen the performance of Polri, TNI, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in upholding the supremacy of law.

“The professionalism of law enforcement apparatus must be supported by a strong system, effective oversight, and continuous improvement in the quality of human resources,” said Bamsoet.

Bamsoet emphasised that synergy among law enforcement institutions is important, including coordination in handling major and strategic cases.

Without solid coordination, he said, law enforcement has the potential to run partially and ineffectively. Therefore, strengthening an integrated system becomes an urgent need.

“Synergy between Polri, TNI, and the Attorney General’s Office must continue to be strengthened so that law enforcement does not run independently, but is integrated and complementary,” explained Bamsoet.

Bamsoet added that improving the professionalism of the apparatus must also be accompanied by transparency to the public. In the era of information openness, the public demands a clear, fair, and accountable legal process.

He emphasised that public trust is the main key to the success of law enforcement institutions.

“Public trust is the main foundation. Without trust, no matter how strong the institution is built, it will be difficult to achieve legitimacy,” Bamsoet concluded.

Then, Parliament of The Year 2020 from Teropong Senayan (2020), Rising Star of Democracy from Teropong Senayan (2020), Best Institution Leader from Obsession Media Group (2020), Inspiring Leader of Politician from Teropong Senayan (2020), APERSI Award 2020 from the All-Indonesia Housing and Settlement Developers Association (APERSI); Parliament of The Year 2021; National Figure Protector of the People’s Houses from the All-Indonesia Housing and Settlement Developers Association (APERSI) in 2024 and Visionary Leadership from the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Chamber (2024).

Bamsoet also collects various records from the Indonesia World Records Museum (MURI).
