The Indonesian Digitalisation and Cybersecurity Association (ADIGSI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CREST International to promote the development of standards, talent capacity building, and the strengthening of the cybersecurity ecosystem in Indonesia. The signing of the cooperation took place on the sidelines of the UK–Indonesia Bilateral Meeting on Digital Economy and Cybersecurity held in London. ADIGSI Chairman Firlie Hanggodo Ganinduto stated the cooperation is part of efforts to expand competency development access for national cybersecurity talent and industry players. “ADIGSI is committed to encouraging the growth of Indonesia’s cybersecurity industry. Therefore, we view this collaboration with CREST International as a strategic step to enhance the competence of national talent while expanding access to the global market,” said Firlie in a statement on Thursday (11/6). According to Firlie, the MoU will be followed up through a series of work programmes, including strengthening industry standards, increasing human resource capacity, knowledge exchange, developing accreditation pathways, and bolstering the capabilities of cybersecurity industry players in Indonesia. He added that the cooperation is expected to support efforts to improve the quality and professionalism of the national cybersecurity sector, which continues to grow in line with the acceleration of digital transformation. CREST International CEO Nick Benson said Indonesia is one of the countries with rapid digital economic development in the Asia Pacific region. According to him, this also increases the need for strengthening cybersecurity capacity and standards. “This partnership is part of CREST’s commitment to supporting the development of standards, competence, and professionalism for the cybersecurity industry in Indonesia. We hope this cooperation can provide benefits for the development of an increasingly secure and trusted digital ecosystem,” said Benson. In addition to CREST International, ADIGSI also signed MoUs with TechUK and ADS Group. TechUK is a technology trade association in the UK with more than 1,100 members, while ADS Group represents the aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors in the United Kingdom. The two cooperation agreements are focused on developing industry networks and exploring collaboration opportunities between business players and technology organisations in Indonesia and the UK. The signing of these various cooperation agreements was witnessed by Director General of Digital Ecosystem at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Edwin Hidayat Abdullah and Director for Infrastructure and Technology, Department for Business and Trade United Kingdom Rodney Berkeley.
