Strengthening Food Security and Sustainable Kitchens in National Strategic Projects through Community Development
PT Surveyor Indonesia is reinforcing its role as Guardian of Assurance through initiatives to strengthen food security and sustainable kitchens in National Strategic Projects (PSN), particularly via community development programmes and local empowerment. This is being realised by collaborating with the Indonesian Food Service Entrepreneurs Association to organise comprehensive training for local catering operators, chefs, and chef assistants in the operational areas of PSN.
PT Surveyor Indonesia’s President Director, Fajar Wibhiyadi, stated that the programme emphasises enhancing community competencies in key aspects, including the application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), food safety for ready-to-eat meals, national food safety standards, modern kitchen management, nutritious menu compilation, as well as halal mentoring and inspection. “The goal is to build an ecosystem of kitchens and food services that is safe, hygienic, professional, and sustainable, capable of supporting large-scale industrial activities while opening new economic opportunities for the surrounding community,” said Fajar.
He explained that one implementation of this programme has been carried out in the Blok Masela area, which is a focus for PSN development in the energy sector.
Through training and direct mentoring, PT Surveyor Indonesia is encouraging the emergence of local communities that are compatible with industrial needs, from quality catering services and high-standard kitchens to healthy, safe supply chains based on local wisdom.
“This approach is expected to create citizen economic networks that can grow alongside industrial development, while strengthening the foundations of sustainable economy, green economy, and circular economy in the region,” he said.
Fajar stated that this initiative is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability and security of operations in national strategic projects.
“As Guardian of Assurance, we believe that the success of PSN is not only measured by infrastructure and industrial output, but also by the empowerment of surrounding communities. Through enhancing food security capacity, sustainable kitchens, and local food services, we want to ensure that the community has access to new economic opportunities that are safe, healthy, and sustainable,” he revealed.
Furthermore, Fajar continued, this programme is expected to serve as a momentum for the industry to recognise the importance of community building as part of corporate sustainability strategies.
According to him, strengthening local resource capacity not only helps the community adapt to industrial and economic growth but also creates a resilient, inclusive, and long-term oriented ecosystem.
“With this initiative, PT Surveyor Indonesia affirms its contribution to accelerating industrial development that upholds community development, utilisation of local wisdom, and responsible, green, and circular economic growth. This aligns with Indonesia’s transformation direction towards a more sustainable future,” Fajar concluded.
