Amidst intensifying discussions regarding gender issues within the proposed amendments to the General Election Law, women of the United Development Party (PPP) are continuing to strengthen their political roles through cross-party consolidation as part of their preparations for the 2029 General Election.

The Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of the United Development Party (WPP PPP), Arimbi Soeharto Alamsjah, emphasised that women hold a strategic position in strengthening democracy and building political synergy between parties.

“Alhamdulillah, we received the visit from the Women’s Wing of the Golkar Party (KPPG) at the PPP National Headquarters today. This positive step serves as a momentum for the consolidation of women in politics across different parties,” Arimbi stated in Jakarta on Saturday (6/6/2026).

According to her, the meeting between the KPPG and WPP PPP is the initial step towards discussing various constructive ideas, which will be realised through a ‘Cross-Party Political Women’s Seminar’. She explained that both organisations will carefully deliberate on constructive ideas during this seminar.

“We believe that this cross-party women’s seminar idea is very good to be realised together, involving female figures from diverse political party backgrounds,” she said.

Arimbi assessed that such a forum could serve as a strategic space to strengthen the role of women in national political life while building productive communication between women’s organisations within political parties.

On this occasion, she also called upon all female cadres of the PPP to strengthen organisational solidarity from the central to the regional levels.

“Therefore, I invite all PPP women to tighten our ranks, starting from the central, regional, to the regency/city levels. Let us ignite the solidarity of our cadres and unite to build the PPP in facing the upcoming 2029 General Election,” she asserted.
