Strengthening Coordination with Regional Government, Pertamina Peduli Distributes Aid to 534 Earthquake Survivors in Palue, NTT

Pertamina, through Pertamina Patra Niaga, has distributed logistical and basic-needs assistance to 534 earthquake survivors in Palue District, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The aid was delivered to the Palue District Main Post and the Rokirole Village Evacuation Post on 20–21 August 2026 as part of post-disaster recovery support.

Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, said the assistance reflects the company’s concern for helping communities affected by the disaster. “Pertamina Peduli is here to help the community meet their basic needs during the post-earthquake recovery period. We hope the assistance provided can ease the burden on survivors and support the recovery process in the affected areas,” said Kitty.

The assistance includes staple goods such as rice, cooking oil, mineral water, coffee and instant noodles. In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga also handed over various other basic necessities including folding mattresses, blankets, towels, emergency lamps, power strips, mats, soap, shampoo, sanitary pads and baby nappies needed by people at the evacuation sites.

The distribution was carried out through quite challenging access. The Pertamina Patra Niaga team departed from Maumere to Palue Island by sea using a ferry with a travel time of around five hours and a departure schedule adjusted to weather conditions. Upon arriving on Palue Island, the journey continued using a pickup vehicle for approximately one hour to reach the evacuation points amid road conditions affected by landslides caused by the earthquake.

Palue District Head Rudolfus Riba expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by Pertamina Patra Niaga to the earthquake-affected community. “Palue District suffered quite severe damage due to the earthquake. The logistical and basic-needs assistance from Pertamina Patra Niaga has greatly helped ease the burden on our community. Thank you, God bless,” said Rudolfus.

Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with regional government and various related parties to ensure the assistance reaches those in need. This is in line with the company’s commitment to continue providing support for communities in emergency situations and during post-disaster recovery.
