Strengthening Business, Here is AZKO's Strategy Throughout 2025
After more than three decades in Indonesia’s retail industry, 2025 marks a crucial milestone for PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk (AHI) (ACES). Last year, the company focused on strengthening its business foundations through brand enhancement for AZKO and developing a new portfolio, NEKA, to maintain relevance and competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic sector.
Throughout 2025, AHI continued to expand its services by opening 27 new AZKO stores, comprising 13 outside Java and 12 on Java (outside Jakarta), reaching 15 new regions such as Palu, Pematang Siantar, Palangka Raya, Bukittinggi, Kolaka, and the easternmost areas of Indonesia, Abepura and Sorong in Papua.
From this expansion, by the end of 2025, AHI operated 265 AZKO stores across 90 cities in Indonesia, with 177 on Java and 88 outside Java.
In the same year, AHI broadened its market segmentation through the presence of the NEKA brand, offering a variety of household and lifestyle needs at more affordable prices, practical and relevant to daily consumer requirements.
This strategic innovation expands the consumer base in areas not optimally served by modern retail, particularly outside city centres, while maintaining clear differentiation and positioning for each brand in AHI’s business portfolio. Throughout 2025, AHI opened 10 NEKA stores located in Jabodetabek, Serang, and Pandeglang.
Director of PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk, Gregory S. Widjaja, stated that the transformation carried out throughout 2025 forms an important foundation for strengthening AHI’s future growth direction. Through AZKO, the company continues to enhance relevance and closeness with customers by providing solutions more aligned with their needs.
“Meanwhile, the presence of NEKA is part of our strategy to expand modern retail reach through a more affordable and practical concept. Going forward, we will continue to drive expansion, innovation, and business capability strengthening to ensure AHI remains adaptive and capable of responding to evolving market dynamics,” said Gregory in his official statement, quoted Friday (10/4/2026).
AHI’s commitment to sustainable growth is demonstrated through the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across all operations. Throughout 2025, AHI executed various initiatives, such as energy efficiency in stores, distribution centres, and supply chains, as well as strengthening waste management through collaboration with certified partners.
Additionally, AHI encouraged customer participation through the BISA BAIK (Bersama Atasi Sampah Barang Elektronik) programme, expanded to 25 AZKO stores in 18 cities in Indonesia, including Medan, Surabaya, Semarang, Bogor, and Bandung. Launched in 2023, this initiative has collected 6.3 tonnes of electronic waste, aiming to prevent environmental pollution and reduce e-waste ending up in landfills.
To support BAPPENAS (National Development Planning Agency) targets for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AHI through AZKO also collaborated with local governments on the AZKO Berbagi Cahaya programme. This initiative aims to promote energy efficiency while serving as an educational tool for the community to adopt more environmentally friendly lifestyles.
Throughout 2025, the programme distributed more than 5,500 energy-saving LED lights to communities across various regions in Indonesia, specifically to households, public facilities like community health centres and schools, and places of worship such as mosques, temples, and churches.
The distribution focused on areas outside city centres, including Abepura, Sorong, Kolaka, Rantau Prapat, Pematang Siantar, and Singaraja in Bali. Moving forward, the programme will be further developed to reach 30,000 households, 300 schools, and 300 public facilities in 80 cities in Indonesia by 2030.
AHI also strengthened its commitment to environmental conservation by planting 4,300 trees at three strategic locations: the Head Office in West Jakarta, the Jababeka Distribution Centre, and Cisauk Tangerang, estimated to absorb around 1,539 tonnes of CO₂e based on measurements with partners.
This conservation effort was expanded through the distribution of 5,200 tree seedlings to customers in eight cities: Tangerang, Jakarta, Bekasi, Depok, Cirebon, Bogor, Bandung, and Semarang, as part of raising awareness and encouraging public participation in environmental preservation.
Furthermore, AHI continues to reinforce good corporate governance (GCG) through transparent, accountable, and integrity-based principles. To ensure high governance standards, PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk refers to the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), which assesses company practices based on principles of shareholder rights and equitable treatment, sustainability and resilience, disclosure and transparency, and board responsibilities.
This commitment is also reflected in prudent business management, focused on measured growth, cost efficiency, and economic independence. For these efforts, AHI received the Indonesia’s Best Managed Companies 2025 award from Deloitte Private (Southeast Asia) for the fourth time.
In 2025, AHI garnered various awards reflecting the strength of its transformation, innovation, service, and sustainability commitment, including the Service Quality Award 2025 for the 15th consecutive time, Transform Awards Asia 2025 (Best Strategic or Creative Development of New Brand and Best Br
