Street vendors to be evicted

BANDUNG: Bandung Mayor Dada Rosada asserted on Saturday that his government would immediately move street vendors operating on main streets in the city to Ciroyom and Gedebage areas here, ahead of the 50th Asia Africa Conference in April next year.

The conference will be held at the Merdeka Building on Jl. Asia Afrika in the heart of the city.

The move was likely aimed at beautifying the city and reducing traffic congestion ahead of, and during, the large conference. -- Antara
