Street Vendors Banned from Trading in Bogor Market Starting 26 March, Relocated to Two Locations

The Bogor City Government has begun regulating street vendors trading in the pedestrian area of Bogor Suryakencana Market. This regulation is part of the commitment to organising the area, with the deadline for vendor activities set for Thursday (26/3/2026). Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the government has prepared two relocation sites for the vendors, namely Pasar Gembrong in Sukasari and Pasar Jambu Dua. “So, in the future, Bogor City will not allow people to trade in stalls and as street vendors again,” Dedie said at Bogor Market on Wednesday (25/3/2026). He emphasised that this regulation follows an agreement between the government and the vendors. “They have committed, the stall and street vendors will end on 26 March 2026 or after Eid al-Fitr,” he said. “So today we are inspecting, and hopefully tomorrow there will be no more street vendor or stall activities around Jalan Roda, Jalan Pedati, Jalan Bata, and Jalan Lawang Seketeng,” he added. Nevertheless, buying and selling activities are still permitted inside official kiosks as long as they do not disrupt the pedestrian path. “So, in the future, Bogor Market and Bogor Plaza will have a building concept, a trading place that supports Bogor City in the urban organisation process,” said Jenal. In the development plan, the area will be equipped with various facilities, such as a parking building (park and ride), convention hall, and hotel to support visitor activities. “Then, next, a hotel will be built there for accommodation for people attending meetings there, staying there, and parking there. One more thing, a clean market and thematic market will be created,” he said. In addition, vendors from the Pedati and Lawang Seketeng areas will also be relocated to the same locations.
