BOGOR, KOMPAS.com - Street vendor stalls (PKL) around Bogor Town Square, demolished directly by Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim in the early hours of Friday (10/4/2026), were seen being rebuilt in the afternoon of Sunday (12/4/2026).

Kompas.com observations at the site showed several workers constructing the canopy section using corrugated iron in the area previously occupied by the demolished PKL stalls.

In addition, they were seen welding the building structure and applying sealant to the canopy.

Strands of electrical cables were also visible dangling from the top of the building down to the Dewi Sartika Street pavement to power equipment such as grinders and welding machines.

One worker even climbed onto the canopy using a ladder to apply sealant to the top section.

Regarding the construction activity in the area of the former PKL building that had been demolished, Central Bogor Sub-District Head Dheri Wiriadirama admitted he was not yet aware of it.

He stated that his office would inspect the site directly and issue a written reprimand.

“Got it, thanks for the info, we’ll reprimand them again with a letter for the record. We’ll also copy it to the Satpol PP colleagues,” Dheri said when contacted by reporters on Sunday (12/4/2026).

Previously, there was a heated exchange between Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim and one of the street vendors (PKL) around Bogor Town Square.

After discovering that the electricity supply was obstructed by one stall blocking part of the pavement and using a canopy, Dedie immediately demolished the structure.

Not long after, two people arrived—a man and a woman on a motorbike—who stopped at the site of the already demolished stall.

“Sir, at least give some notice. I’m trying to make a living, where are my goods? At least tell me,” the female stall owner said in the early hours of Friday (10/4/2026).

“There are goods,” said one of the Bogor City Satpol PP officers.
