Street Vendor in Kuningan Denies Intending to Stab Satpol PP Officer During Enforcement, Claims Aimed to Puncture Tyre

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A street vendor (PKL) in front of the Ministry of Health building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, has denied intending to stab a Satpol PP officer during an enforcement operation on Monday (6/4/2026). The vendor, identified by the initials KK (39), was seen holding a sharp ice-breaking tool when Satpol PP officers attempted to regulate the area. As officers tried to take the object from her, KK resisted and denied the accusation of wanting to stab them. Once released by the officers, KK took out her mobile phone and protested while directing the camera at the officers. In another video received by Kompas.com from Satpol PP, KK is seen confronting the Head of Satpol PP Setiabudi, Ahmad Lutfi. There, KK emphasised that she had no intention of stabbing Lutfi or his officers. “I was accused of wanting to stab you all (Satpol PP). I have no intention of stabbing you; I also know the law,” KK stated in front of Lutfi. She admitted to only threatening to puncture the tyre of a Satpol PP officer’s motorcycle that was blocking her customers. “Besides, he (the Satpol PP officer) wouldn’t move, there were people wanting to buy, so I just puncture the tyre,” she explained. However, KK again accused some Satpol PP officers of being paid by canteen traders at the Ministry of Health to drive out vendors like her. She also claimed that she is often asked for free goods along with monthly contributions to be allowed to trade there. “In the past, they (Satpol PP) would patrol while asking for cigarettes and money, Mr Lutfi,” said KK. Lutfi then asked for the names and details of the individuals involved, but KK said she did not know because the officers wore masks and patrol vests that covered the names on their uniforms.
