Street named after PMI volunteer

BOGOR: The Bogor administration named a major thoroughfare after volunteer Dady Kusumayadi of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) on Wednesday, who died while evacuating landslide victims in Kampung Lengkong hamlet, Pasir Buncir subdistrict, Caringin, last year.

Dady, or Bulldog to his close friends, died on Sept. 26, 2003, in an operation to dig out four illegal sand miners buried in a landslide. He was 32 years old. Dady had been a volunteer for PMI for more than a decade, according to Abidin, an executive of PMI's chapter in Bogor. -- Antara
