Street Lighting in Tabanan Spread Across 18,137 Points, Transport Agency to Expand Network in Pupuan
The number of Public Street Lighting (LPJU) points in Tabanan Regency currently stands at 18,137. These are distributed across the 10 sub-districts in the regency, known as Bali’s Rice Barn.
Head of the Tabanan Transport Agency (Dishub), I Made Murdika, when contacted on Monday (6/4/2026), said that this number has the potential to increase in 2026. This is in line with the agency’s plans to develop the LPJU network.
“Especially in Pupuan Sub-district, where there are plans for network expansion,” Murdika stated.
The Tabanan Transport Agency, he continued, has also prepared a budget to support these plans. This budget includes needs for maintaining the existing LPJU network.
“For dead LPJU, maintenance handling is our responsibility at the Transport Agency,” he emphasised.
Murdika explained that different handling is carried out for LPJU on national and provincial roads. For national roads, they coordinate with the Land Transportation Management Agency.
Meanwhile, for LPJU on provincial roads, coordination is done with the Bali Provincial Transport Agency.
“Tabanan is also traversed by national and provincial roads, so not all installed LPJU fall under the authority of the Tabanan Transport Agency. We still coordinate with relevant parties if there are reports regarding damage or maintenance,” he stressed.
For handling in the regency area, the Tabanan Transport Agency has prepared a complaint system based on a short message group. This group involves LPJU officers as well as village sub-district heads.
“This step is taken to facilitate complaints so they can be handled immediately according to SOP,” he concluded.
