Crime in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi is common. Besides robbing motorcycles, criminals often act cruelly, injuring or even killing their victims.

The police have not been successful in disclosing or arresting the perpetrators so they remain free. Society, therefore, is required to be more alert and avoid quiet roads.

As an employee who returns home in the early morning, I sometimes feel the need to take a weapon with me in case criminals try to attack me. But I may have a problem with the police if they find the weapon.

The only institution society can rely on with regards to safety is the police. So the police should patrol city streets more frequently, particularly at night.
