StratoComm Corp., a telecommunications products developer in Albany, New York, is moving into the Asian market and will form a joint company with SIMS, an Indonesia-based broadband services provider.
StratoComm sells telecommunications equipment and services to primarily developing countries. The new company, based in Indonesia, will serve the Indonesian telecommunications market.
“StratoComm and SIMS will now collaborate in the market research required to define the business model and strategy to be employed to achieve their mutual objectives,” said Robert Phillips, StratoComm’s president and chief operating officer.
The agreement with SIMS comes four months after StratoComm opened a development office in Geneva, Switzerland. The company, formed in 1992, also has a sales office in Eatontown, New Jersey.
The company’s shares are listed on the OTC Bulletin Board (OTC: STCO); trading opened today at 7 cents.
