Jakarta, VIVA – The US-based technology company Strategy Inc. is committed to continuing its Bitcoin purchases. This statement comes as this corporation, the world’s largest Bitcoin holder, suffers staggering losses due to the decline in the price of this digital gold asset.

According to official documents up to 6 April 2026, Strategy bought 4,871 Bitcoins during the period from 1–5 April 2026. The transaction value was around US$329.9 million, equivalent to Rp5.6 trillion (estimated exchange rate of Rp17,010 per US dollar), with an average purchase price of US$67,718 per coin.

To date, the total holdings of Michael Saylor’s company reach 766,970 Bitcoins, or about 3.65% of the global Bitcoin supply, which is capped at 21 million coins worldwide. The accumulated purchase value is approximately US$58.02 billion at an average price of US$75,644 per coin.

Behind this jumbo reserve, Saylor has incurred losses of US$14.46 billion, or about Rp246 trillion, up to the first quarter of 2026. The losses stem from a correction of more than 20% during the first three months of the year, as well as the adoption of fair-value accounting, which directly reflects price fluctuations in profit and loss.

Citing The Street on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, the company listed on Nasdaq under the ticker MSTR targets holding 5–7% of the total global Bitcoin supply. This strategy makes Strategy’s performance increasingly dependent on future movements in the cryptocurrency asset price.

To fund Bitcoin purchases, Strategy continues to rely on issuing shares through an at-the-market (ATM) scheme. In the period from late March to early April, the company raised approximately US$473.9 million from share sales.

Strategy’s management explicitly uses these funds to increase Bitcoin holdings, demonstrating the company’s focus on expanding its cryptocurrency assets despite market pressures.

Currently, the price of the world’s most valuable digital asset has surged about 5% to a daily high of around US$72,753, or approximately Rp1.22 billion. This spike occurred within hours after the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
