PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) continues to strengthen its commitment to improving national logistics efficiency through optimising the implementation of JICT Dual Move. This operational scheme is designed to enable transport vehicles to deliver export containers while simultaneously collecting import containers in a single terminal visit.

This strategic measure aims to increase the productivity of vehicle movements within the terminal. It is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the area surrounding Tanjung Priok Port.

JICT Director of Operations and Engineering, Doni Budiono, explained that Dual Move is an integral part of the company’s efforts to improve efficiency in the broader logistics chain. According to him, efficiency at the terminal level must have a tangible impact on service users.

“Through Dual Move, we are opening up opportunities so that a single vehicle visit can generate two productive movements. Terminal efficiency will provide greater value when it can be translated into productivity for service users,” said Doni during a dissemination event attended by regulators and relevant associations in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/8/2026).

Doni added that the success of this programme is not only measured by transaction volume, but also by process reliability, the level of adoption by service users, truck turn time, and effectiveness in the field. JICT is committed to continuing monitoring and evaluation together with customers, freight forwarders, and trucking companies.

Support for this innovation has also come from regulators. Head of the Tanjung Priok Main Port Authority, Capt. Heru Susanto, stressed that modernising port governance is crucial for smoothing the flow of goods distribution and improving Indonesia’s logistics competitiveness.

“The Dual Move initiative offers an approach that integrates export and import activities in a single vehicle visit. The success of its implementation certainly depends heavily on collaboration from all parties to remain in a solid and disciplined working rhythm,” said Heru.
