Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has emphasised that the government has prepared several strategies to boost the national economy, aiming for a growth rate of 6 per cent by 2027.

During a working meeting between Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government regarding the 2027 State Budget (APBN) basic assumptions, Purbaya explained that efforts to reach this goal will be supported by the acceleration of fiscal and monetary policies, bolstered by the investment performance of Danantara Indonesia.

“To achieve this, synergy and collaboration between fiscal policy, monetary policy, the financial sector, and Danantara are required,” said Purbaya during the meeting with Commission XI at the DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

Purbaya asserted that fiscal policy will act as a catalyst for economic growth while maintaining current fiscal health.

Efforts to meet public needs, which will be the focus of the 2027 State Budget performance, will also be directed towards stimulating and revitalising the role of the private sector to assist in accelerating national economic growth.

Purbaya acknowledged that this will be aligned with Bank Indonesia’s monetary policy to support stability and encourage high growth while maintaining central bank independence.

Meanwhile, Danantara itself will assist in growing productive investment, particularly in strategic sectors. This is intended to increase added value, which will have a significant impact on national economic growth.

“Investment growth of up to 7 per cent is needed so that the 2027 economy can reach 6 per cent growth; therefore, the government, the private sector, and Danantara will collaborate to achieve this target,” said Purbaya.

Furthermore, Purbaya continued, the financial sector will continue to be strengthened through efforts to enhance inclusivity, deepen the financial sector, and maintain stability, ensuring that access to financing becomes wider and can more optimally drive the real sector.

With these strategies, Purbaya is optimistic that they will serve as the driving force for national economic growth in the coming year of 2027.

The goal is for household consumption to grow by 5.4 per cent, government spending by 5.6 per cent, investment (PMTB) by 7 per cent, exports by 7.5 per cent, and imports by 8.7 per cent, as targeted by the government.

“This will be pursued in line with steps to strengthen investment to maintain economic growth momentum; thus, the government will continue to encourage the optimisation of strategic sectors, particularly oil and gas,” he added.
