In an increasingly competitive and dynamic job market, academic ability alone is no longer sufficient for students. The industrial world demands graduates who possess not only strong theoretical knowledge but also practical, adaptive skills capable of facing real-world professional challenges. Consequently, readiness for internships and careers must be cultivated during university studies.

As a Digital Business Campus, Nusa Mandiri University (UNM), through its Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), provides a learning ecosystem designed to meet these demands. FEB students have significant opportunities for early self-development, as their fields of study—ranging from business and management to the digital economy—are highly relevant to industrial needs.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Ida Zuniarti, emphasised that career readiness cannot be formed instantly. “Students must begin building career readiness early, focusing not only on academic grades but also on the practical experience and skills required in the professional world,” she stated on Monday (1-8-2026).

She explained that universities play a vital role in bridging industrial needs with campus learning processes. Through programmes integrated with the professional world, students can understand industrial realities while increasing their competitiveness before graduation.

One of the flagship programmes is the Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1, which offers students the opportunity to undergo three years of lectures followed by one year of direct work experience. This programme serves as a strategic step in equipping students with relevant professional experience. In addition to internships, the strengthening of soft skills is a primary focus, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.

“Students who actively participate in seminars, workshops, and various self-development activities tend to be more prepared and confident when entering the workforce,” she added.

In the digital era, technological literacy is also a primary requirement. Students are expected to understand digital marketing, data analytics, and the utilisation of technology in business. These competencies provide a significant advantage and serve as a differentiator in an increasingly tight competition.

“FEB UNM consistently encourages students not only to be job seekers but also to be capable of creating opportunities. By utilising various flagship programmes and an adaptive learning environment, students are shaped into graduates who are work-ready, independent, and innovative,” explained Ida.

Under the spirit of “Nusa Mandiri University: Turning Dreams into Achievements,” UNM is committed to producing a generation of professionals who are not only academically excellent but also prepared to face the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy era.
