A bus has been successfully evacuated after breaking down on the Karawang Toll Road, specifically before the Karawang Timur (Kartim) traffic light on lane B, West Java, on Wednesday (18/3). As the peak of the Lebaran 2026 homecoming rush begins, the Karawang Police Resort is continuously enhancing vigilance and services as part of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026.

Ipda Cep Wildan, the Public Relations Officer, explained that the stranded bus on the Karawang Toll Road is suspected to be carrying a group of homecoming travellers. The bus suddenly experienced engine trouble and stopped in the middle of the lane, potentially causing density and long queues of congestion on the toll road section.

Traffic Unit personnel, part of the immediate response team, quickly headed to the location of the stranded bus on the Karawang Toll Road. They carried out the evacuation by promptly moving the stranded bus to a safer spot to avoid obstructing the flow of traffic for other homecoming vehicles.

“Traffic flow, which was temporarily disrupted, returned to normal in a short time. The evacuation was conducted by deploying tow trucks and managing traffic around the incident site,” said Ipda Cep Wildan.

Cep Wildan added that Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 is still ongoing. The Karawang Police Resort is on full alert at security posts and service points, both on toll roads and arterial routes. This is done to ensure smoothness, comfort, and a sense of security for all homecoming travellers passing through the Karawang Regency area. (H-4)
