The incident was recounted by Iwan while serving as an additional witness in a trial held at the Jakarta II-08 Military Court in East Jakarta on Monday (11/5/2026). He stated that he obtained the recording from his son, who is the brother of the late Ilham’s wife.

“I received news from the brother of the deceased’s wife that her husband had been kidnapped. The information came via telephone and also through the sending of video from the CCTV at the scene,” said Iwan.

“Could you describe the content of the video, sir?” asked the military prosecutor.

“The deceased was walking towards his own car from the right side. As soon as he reached the driver’s door, a white car parked right next to him on the right suddenly opened its door and immediately ambushed the deceased. He was then forcibly pulled into the white car. From there, the car moved forward and left the scene,” explained Iwan.

Iwan then immediately reported the incident to the East Jakarta Police Resort. He reported it on the night of 20 August 2025.

“Has the witness ever reported to the police regarding the victim?” asked the prosecutor.

“Correct, I have already reported to the East Jakarta Police Resort,” replied Iwan.

“What date, sir?” asked the prosecutor.

“20th in the afternoon, 7 pm,” answered Iwan.

Iwan also explained what he saw directly on the victim’s body at the Police Hospital. He revealed several wounds on Ilham’s body.

“I joined in viewing the victim’s body at the Police Hospital after the autopsy for bathing. The first thing from the head, I saw marks of ligature about two or three fingers wide around here, it looked quite tight from the marks,” he said.

He also mentioned bruising on the victim’s chest. Then on the neck, continued Iwan, there was a red circular mark.

“Then on the right and left hands, there were many small black spots, I don’t know what from. After that, this might be the result of the autopsy, a long surgical incision mark there,” he clarified.

“As for below, I didn’t see below. Only on the leg here, it seems like there was a binding mark on the ankle here. Because during the bathing, we were only allowed to uncover the body up to the navel. Above the navel, the rest was covered with cloth, perhaps here a little exposed,” he added.

As a father-in-law, Iwan is determined to defend his child’s family. He hopes the perpetrators receive the heaviest possible punishment.

“They deserve to be given the heaviest punishment, commensurate with the act and the consequences it caused, in accordance with the applicable law and as fairly as possible. And especially considering the soldier’s oath that was violated, namely upholding the honour of the nation, state, and the good name of the corps,” he stated.

It is known that there are a total of 16 defendants in the murder case of Ilham Pradipta, consisting of TNI personnel and several civilian perpetrators. The trial at the Jakarta Military Court is being held to try three TNI soldiers who are defendants. They are:

  • Serka Mochamad Nasir (MN)

  • Kopda Feri Herianto (FH)

  • Serka Frengky Yaru (FY).
