Story of Deaf Twin Sisters Hasna-Hasni Hired by Matahari Department Store
JAKARTA – Twin sisters Hasna Alifah Salsabila and Hasni Alifah Salsabila, both deaf, have become the focus of public attention following the viral spread of their employment story at Matahari department stores in Bandung on social media. The pair have been sharing their daily experiences through their personal TikTok account, which has garnered considerable support from online users.
Hasna works at the Matahari outlet located at Festival Citylink Bandung, whilst Hasni is employed at the Matahari Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) outlet. Through their TikTok posts, both sisters have expressed gratitude for the public support they have received. They hope to inspire all deaf individuals across Indonesia.
“We want to say thank you for your support. We hope we can be motivation for all deaf people in Indonesia to keep their spirits up,” said Hasna and Hasni in their post, cited on Friday (27 February 2026).
Matahari Department Store issued an official statement regarding the viral story of Hasna-Hasni and Ardelia, another disabled employee of Matahari. The company stated that public support for their disabled employees is deeply meaningful.
“We see so much support and positive messages posted on social media regarding Hasna and Ardelia, Matahari’s disabled employees, over the past few days. This is truly meaningful for us and our disabled colleagues at Matahari. Thank you,” Matahari stated on their official TikTok account.
