Story of Civil Servant Registering for Komcad Due to Interest and Curiosity in Military Training

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A civil servant (ASN) from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) originating from Sukabumi Regency, Suherlan Maulana, expressed enthusiasm for participating in the Komponen Cadangan (Komcad) education programme held by the Ministry of Defence.

Suherlan stated that his interest in joining Komcad stemmed from curiosity about military training, which he considers appealing and challenging.

“Yes, I first applied because it seemed very interesting, with Komcad involving military training. Just curious, hopefully this will make me a more disciplined person in my work,” said Suherlan, when met during the Komcad roll call at the Monas area on Monday (13/4/2026).

Participants who register then receive official assignments to undergo a series of selections.

“We from the Ministry, anyone who wants to join can fill out the registration link. After that, we also receive assignment letters, so we temporarily leave our jobs to focus on this Komcad,” he said.

“The selection duration is around three to five days until the 17th. If we pass, then we continue with education for about one and a half months or 45 days, without a break to go home first,” he explained.

He added that participants in this programme come from various regions, including representatives from regencies and sub-districts.

Full support also comes from his family. Suherlan mentioned that his wife and children strongly support his decision to join the programme.

“The family is very supportive, very enthusiastic, there are no obstacles or problems,” he said.

Suherlan hopes that after completing the entire education series, he can return to his workplace with improved discipline and a better work spirit.

“The hope is to return to duty being more disciplined, carrying out tasks more accurately, in line with the spirit gained from this Komcad,” he stated.
