Stories of Commuters Trapped in Traffic on Sukabumi's Arterial Route

Severe traffic jams occurred on the arterial route at Simpang Cikidang, Sukabumi Regency, during the 2026 Lebaran return flow. Several holidaymakers claimed to be trapped in vehicle queues for more than a dozen hours.

One of them was experienced by a holidaymaker, Hendi (34), who had been stuck in traffic since dawn. This commuter from Bogor did not know the cause of the long congestion.

“Since dawn. I’m from Bogor,” said Hendi when met in Cibadak, as reported by detikJabar, Tuesday (24/3/2026).

Hendi mentioned that the total time he spent on the road reached around 14 hours due to the congestion. He even admitted to feeling exhausted because of the traffic in Sukabumi.

A similar situation was faced by another holidaymaker, Supri. He started getting stuck in traffic since midday in the Cibadak area up to Simpang Cikidang.

“From Cibadak to the Cikidang junction, it’s 14 hours. I left at 12 noon, arrived at Cikidang at 2 pm, then got stuck until 2 am, and now it’s just moving again,” he said.

Supri said he was currently continuing his journey home to Cicurug after being held up on the road for hours.
