The lights at the JIExpo Kemayoran exhibition area in Jakarta were still shining brightly on Sunday evening, 15 February 2026. On the 11th and final day of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, the story of the nation’s energy future was no longer something distant or unfamiliar — it was unfolding in real time before visitors’ eyes.

A prominent blue booth attracted significant visitor attention throughout the exhibition’s run. Over 11 days, stories about Indonesia’s energy future and transformation were not merely displayed on banners or screens, but brought to life through direct interaction, conversations, and hands-on experience with electric vehicle technology.

In the outdoor parking area, six nozzles at Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) equipped with fast and ultra-fast charging technology served electric vehicles throughout the day. With ultra-fast charging capacity of up to 200 kW, electric vehicles could be recharged in remarkably short periods.

Throughout the exhibition, PLN Mobile was not merely an application — it served as the primary gateway to the electric vehicle ecosystem. Visitors such as Edi from Bogor came to the PLN booth seeking information about new electrical installations, only to discover that the information was more accessible and better integrated through the app.

PLN, as the backbone of energy transition in the transport sector, has continued expanding the construction of SPKLU across various regions of Indonesia, with more than 5,000 units operational by early 2026.

At IIMS 2026, PLN introduced the theme “EV Ecosystem Powered by PLN Mobile — Your EV Partner,” designed to position the platform as the main gateway for all electrical services related to electric vehicles.

Through its “Power Up EVent” programme, PLN offered a 50 per cent discount on power upgrades for single-phase customers with capacity up to 7,700 VA during the exhibition period from 5 to 15 February 2026. The company also provided free electricity vouchers worth Rp20,000 for the first 5,000 transactions by visitors who purchased IIMS admission tickets through PLN Mobile.

For home charging, PLN offered a 50 per cent discount on new Home Charging Services (HCS) installation costs, as well as a 30 per cent discount on electricity tariffs specifically for overnight vehicle charging between 22:00 and 05:00 Western Indonesian Time.

Director of Retail and Business at PLN, Adi Priyanto, stated that these achievements reflected the company’s strong commitment to accelerating electric vehicle adoption in Indonesia. He noted that PLN was not only focused on electricity provision but also on building an integrated and easily accessible electric vehicle ecosystem.

The cross-sector collaboration demonstrated at IIMS 2026 showed that Indonesia’s clean energy future is not a distant dream but is being built today — one charge and one app download at a time. PLN’s efforts were recognised at the event, where the company won two awards: Most Attractive Booth and Most Attractive Programme Activity through the PLN Mobile platform.
