Stop violence!

Stop violence!

From Suara Karya

As an Indonesian working woman riding the city bus on the main streets of the city of Jakarta, I'd like to express my concern about the recent bomb blast at the residence of the Philippines Ambassador to Indonesia, which left two dead and dozens seriously injured. I am afraid one day a similar bombing may be repeated during the day-time, especially at the time people are leaving their offices when the city buses are full of workers who will be traveling on the main streets of Jl. Thamrin, Jl. Sudirman and Jl. Rasuna Said in Kuningan where embassies and other important buildings and offices are located.

Considering that any bomb blast results in damages and loss of life or suffering, it is an especially inhumane act and I strongly condemn the bombing and all kinds of violence taking place nearly everywhere in Jakarta as well as some other big cities in this country. I am calling on all parties, including the security agencies in general and the police in particular, as well as all criminals, to stop the bombing, bloodshed and all violence in this beloved country. May God bless us all.
