Stone gets RI project
BOSTON (Dow Jones): Stone & Webster (SW) won a contract to design, procure and construct a cogeneration plant for Amoseas Indonesia Inc.
Amoseas is the Indonesian affiliate of Chevron Corp. and Texaco Inc.
In a press release Tuesday, Stone & Webster said it acted as an agent for PT Mandau Cipta Tenaga Nusantara, or MCTN, a joint venture between Chevron, Texaco and PT Nusagalih Nusantara. The terms of the contract weren't released.
The project will produce 305 megawatts of electricity and steam, to be used for enhanced oil recovery at the Duri field, in Sumatra, Stone & Webster said.
Construction will start in the fourth quarter and the plant is expected to be in commercial operation by the fourth quarter of 2000.
Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp., will supply combustion turbines for the project, as well as technical assistance.
