Stock Trading Data Closes Mostly Positive Over the Past Week
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) announced that stock market performance moved positively over the past week. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) was recorded at 6,409 with a market capitalisation of Rp 11,212 trillion. Stock trading data on the IDX during the period of 3-7 August 2026 closed mostly positive. The IDX’s average daily transaction volume recorded the highest increase, rising 32.98 per cent to 39.95 billion shares from 30.04 billion shares the previous week. Furthermore, the average daily transaction frequency increased 27.62 per cent to 2.32 million transactions from 1.82 million transactions the week before. The JCI also strengthened 2.78 per cent, closing at 6,409.654 from 6,236.126 the previous week. The IDX’s market capitalisation increased 2.64 per cent to Rp 11,212 trillion from Rp 10,923 trillion the week before. Meanwhile, the average daily transaction value experienced a change of 0.38 per cent to Rp 15.38 trillion from Rp 15.44 trillion the previous week. Foreign investors at the end of this week recorded a net buy value of Rp 1.24 trillion, and throughout 2026, foreign investors have recorded a net sell value of Rp 71.29 trillion. The IDX also announced another important milestone in the development of the Indonesian capital market. At the close of trading on Friday (7/8/2026), the number of Indonesian capital market investors officially surpassed 30 million Single Investor Identifications (SIDs), precisely reaching 30,274,265 SIDs. Throughout 2026, the number of capital market investors has increased by 9,926,440 SIDs, or grown 48.78 per cent year to date (ytd). In the same period, the number of stock investors also successfully surpassed 10 million SIDs, precisely reaching 10,052,059 SIDs, an increase of 1,447,882 SIDs or 16.83 per cent compared to the position at the end of 2025. This achievement reflects the broadening inclusion of the capital market in Indonesia, in line with the increasing public participation in capital market investment. Amid the growth in the number of investors, the Exchange continues to encourage the strengthening of market quality through reforms, increased connectivity between listed companies and investors, and various initiatives to broaden and deepen the market base. As part of the implementation of the eight Indonesian Capital Market Reform Actions, the IDX held a series of Surabaya Investor Meeting and Connectivity 2026 activities in Surabaya on Wednesday (5/8/2026). This activity is one of the IDX’s efforts to support the increase in the free float of Listed Companies by strengthening communication and connectivity between issuers and investors, including institutional investors.
