Regarding capital market regulation, the OJK aims to issue regulations concerning the demutualisation of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in September 202cap 6. The internal process is said to be complete and is now entering the harmonisation stage with the Ministry of Law.
In the draft regulation, ownership of BEI shares is generally limited to a maximum of 5% for each party, both Exchange Members and non-Exchange Members. However, strategic shareholders such as Danantara, Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Finance may hold ownership above 5% after undergoing research and obtaining OJK approval.
The BEI Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB), previously scheduled for 15 September 2026, may face a schedule change as it awaits the issuance of said regulation. This regulation will eventually open opportunities for non-Exchange Members to become shareholders of the BEI.
