Stock Recommendations and JCI Movement Today, Monday 21 September 2026
Several analysts anticipate that the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) may face downward pressure during trading today, Monday (21/9/2026), and have provided recommendations for leading stocks.
Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the JCI weakened throughout the trading week of 14–18 September 2026, driven by global market pressure following signals from the US Federal Reserve regarding higher interest rates.
The Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Elsierra Putri Yosita, stated that several IDX trading indicators moved dynamically throughout the week. The JCI fell by 1.53% to 6,441.159 at the end of the week, down from 6,541.377 the previous week.
“In line with the movement of the JCI, the IDX market capitalisation changed by 1.58% to Rp11,266 trillion from Rp11,446 trillion the previous week,” she said in an official statement on Friday (18/9/2026).
In terms of transaction activity, the average daily transaction value at the IDX decreased by 6.95% to Rp15.22 trillion from Rp16.36 trillion the previous week. The average daily transaction frequency also dropped by 14.73% to 1.89 million transactions from 2.22 million transactions. Meanwhile, the average daily transaction volume changed by 20.71% to 28.61 billion shares from 36.09 billion shares the previous week.
Analysts from MNC Sekuritas noted that in the current worst-case scenario, the JCI is expected to be part of wave iv from wave (c), meaning the index remains vulnerable to retesting the 6,290-6,370 range.
“However, as long as the JCI remains above 6,370, there is still an opportunity for the JCI to strengthen within the 6,541-6,581 range,” their daily research report wrote, as quoted on Sunday (20/9/2026).
The JCI support levels are projected at 6,279 and 6,201, while resistance levels are expected in the 6,585 to 6,633 range.
MNC Sekuritas recommends that investors consider ‘buy on weakness’ options for PT Buana Listya Tama Tbk. (BULL), PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. (KLBF), and PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk. (TLKM), as well as ‘trading buy’ for PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA).
