Still Under Investigation, Getaway Driver in the Killing of a Joxzin Member Could Become a Suspect

Police say they still cannot confirm whether a witness, FS (22), will become a suspect in the murder of a Joxzin member in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul. At present, police are still examining the extent of FS’s involvement.

‘Still at the moment, the extent of FS’s involvement is being investigated because FS remains a witness,’ said Bantul Police Public Relations Head, Iptu Rita Hidayanto, when contacted by detikJogja on Friday (6/3/2026).

Therefore police still could not confirm whether FS will be charged or not, as changing that status requires evidence and statements.

‘That matter (FS potentially becoming a suspect) is still under investigation; the extent of involvement is being assessed,’ she stated briefly.

Earlier reports, police finally arrested the suspect in the murder of a Joxzin member in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul. The suspect was arrested in Sedayu on Thursday (5/3).

Public Relations Head Rita Hidayanto said that after investigations including witness interviews and CCTV analysis, police identified the suspect. Subsequently, police arrested the suspect.

‘Today around 04.00 WIB, the Bantul Police’s Mobile Resmob team together with the DIY Regional Police’s Opsnal Jatanras team and Sedayu Sector’s Reskrim secured the suspected perpetrator in Sedayu,’ she told reporters in Bantul on Thursday (5/3).

The two individuals detained were SS (29) and FS (22). Both are residents of Gamping, Sleman.

‘For SS, his role was as the executor and he has been named a suspect. For FS, his role is that of a getaway rider accompanying SS; FS is currently being questioned,’ she said.
