Still Under Evaluation, WIKA's Plan to Sell Five Toll Road Sections
JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (Persero) or WIKA is still conducting an evaluation regarding the plan to divest five toll road sections it owns. This particularly concerns toll road projects where the company acts as a minority investor. WIKA’s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, explained that WIKA’s involvement in the toll road sector is mostly not as the majority shareholder, but rather as a contractor. “In these toll roads, WIKA has some involvement as an investor, but mostly as a contractor,” he said in response to Kompas.com after a media visit to Harbour Toll Road (HBR) II, Jakarta, on Monday (6/4/2026). He mentioned that the only toll road section where WIKA is the majority shareholder is the Tol Serang-Panimbang project. Currently, that section has one operational segment, and the next segment is planned to start operating this year. These include the Tol Surabaya-Mojokerto (Sumo) project, Tol Manado-Bitung (Mabit), Tol Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam), and Tol Soreang-Pasir Koja (Soroja). In addition, WIKA also has involvement in one toll road project in Bali with a minority ownership stake. According to Agung, all these assets are still in the evaluation stage before deciding on the next steps. “We are in the evaluation stage, estimating their value and so on,” he said. He emphasised that the company has not yet detailed plans regarding the timing or scheme for selling those toll road sections. The review process is ongoing to ensure that the decisions taken align with the company’s conditions.
