Still Super Scarce! Shell Petrol Prices Rise from 1 March 2026
From 1 March 2026 onwards, several fuel supply companies have officially adjusted selling prices for non-subsidised petrol products. Price increases have been implemented at both Pertamina and private petrol stations including Shell, BP-AKR, and Vivo.
According to official information from Shell Indonesia’s website, Shell Super (RON 92) petrol has increased to IDR12,390 per litre from IDR12,050 in February 2026. However, this price increase is accompanied by continuing stock shortages at various service stations.
As of early March 2026, fuel stock shortages at Shell petrol stations continue to persist, particularly in the Greater Jakarta area including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). Many consumers have reported that Shell stations are only supplying diesel, whilst petrol varieties such as Shell Super, V-Power, and V-Power Nitro+ are out of stock.
Shell Indonesia management revealed that stable Shell Super stock is currently only available in East Java. This shortage is believed to be linked to the administrative process for 2026 fuel import quotas, which remains under coordination with the government.
Due to stock constraints, Shell has only updated prices for two product types: Shell Super at IDR12,390 per litre and Shell V-Power Diesel, which has increased significantly to IDR14,620 per litre.
PT Pertamina (Persero) has also announced updated prices for the Greater Jakarta region. Unlike Shell, which faces stock constraints, Pertamina’s supply is reported to be relatively secure across its service station networks.
For regulated and subsidised fuel prices, the government has confirmed there are no price changes. Pertalite remains sold at IDR10,000 per litre and Biosolar remains at IDR6,800 per litre.
These price adjustments are made in accordance with global crude oil price fluctuations and rupiah exchange rate movements. The public is advised to continue monitoring stock availability information through the official applications of each fuel station operator.
