Still in Recess, DPR to Discuss Labour Law Revision After Eid
DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad has said that deliberations on the revision of the Manpower Law will begin in the next sitting period. Dasco assured that the DPR would incorporate public participation throughout the legislative process.
“For the revision of the Manpower Law, I think it will start after we enter the next sitting period,” Dasco told reporters on Monday (23/2/2026).
Dasco said the DPR is currently in recess. He indicated that once the recess concludes, the House will begin the preliminary stages of revising the Manpower Law.
“The DPR is in recess from 19 February to 19 March. After we return on 19 March, there will then be a break for Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
“After that, as we agreed through the Leadership Meeting before the recess, we will begin work on the Manpower Law by holding public participation sessions at the DPR,” he added.
Dasco emphasised that the revision process would involve various stakeholders. In addition, the DPR will establish joint teams with trade union federations.
“We will also hold meetings and form teams with the trade union federations,” he said.
