Stickers circulated to help voters
PURWOKERTO, Central Java: The local chapter of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) has found a creative way to educate its supporters: distributing stickers bearing the party logo, which has been pierced.
"We are worried that our supporters may pierce the wrong picture so we have given them copies they can bring along with them when they go to the polls," J. Winarjo, a local party executive, said on Thursday.
During the day, party activists were seen distributing the stickers to people in bus terminals and major streets here.
The five-by-10 centimeter stickers are inscribed with: "Your vote will determine the future of our children and grandchildren. Your trust will not be in vain. Thanks for choosing PDI Perjuangan. Please bring this along when going to the polls."
Also pictured on the stickers is party chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
On Thursday, the city was painted red by thousands of PDI Perjuangan supporters taking to streets in convoys. (45)
