The opening ceremony took place solemnly in the STFT Jakarta Auditorium on Saturday (28/3), marked by a symbolic procession of striking the taganing musical instrument.
This programme is designed as an intensive 12-week training (24 sessions) to prepare prospective Indonesian leaders for the next five years. A total of 70 selected participants aged 23-35 from various professional backgrounds, churches, and regions will attend this series of classes.
Rector of STFT Jakarta, Rev. Prof. Binsar J. Pakpahan, emphasised the importance of integrity for a leadership figure.
“Through this school, we want to prepare leaders who can be emulated and followed, whose thoughts and actions are aligned,” he stated in his opening remarks.
As the main speaker in the Leadership Talks session, National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman General TNI (Ret.) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan outlined the global situation and the challenges faced by the current young generation.
In his message, Luhut emphasised three main points for Christian youth:
In addition to the leadership session, the event continued with a panel discussion featuring several figures from various fields, including Martin Hutabarat, Dr. Master Tumanggor, Dr. Juniver Girsang, Prof. Angel Damayanti, and journalist Abraham Silaban.
For subsequent meetings, the programme is scheduled to feature state officials at the ministerial level, religious figures, and other professionals.
The presence of these practitioners is expected to equip participants with real experiences on how to lead honestly and embody the calling of service for both the church and society.
