Sterilisation Operations Begin on Cipali Toll Road Ahead of One-Way Traffic System Implementation

CIREBON – Sterilisation of the Jakarta-bound lane on the Cipali Toll Road began on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at approximately 13.00 WIB as a preparatory measure for implementing one-way traffic management. The sterilisation operation also covered rest areas along the route.

Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, explained that the precise start time for the one-way system would follow police discretion and guidance from field officers.

Traffic monitoring data indicated smooth flows on the Cirebon-bound lane during the day. From midnight to 13.00 WIB, approximately 34,000 vehicles passed through Cikopo heading towards Cirebon, representing a 24 per cent increase compared to the same period the previous day.

In the opposite direction, approximately 13,000 vehicles travelled through Cikopo towards Jakarta, an increase of seven per cent compared to the equivalent period the previous day. Overall traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road increased by 19 per cent compared to the same hours the previous day.

Ardam urged all road users to prioritise safety and comply with field officers’ instructions during the sterilisation period and implementation of the traffic management system.
