Stepping Up Efforts to Attract Indonesian Tourists, Singapore Relies on Experience-Based Travel

Travel platform Traveloka strengthens cooperation with Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in Singapore to capture the growing interest of Indonesian travellers in experience-based tourism ahead of the mid-2026 holiday season. The collaboration is marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties. The partnership enables Traveloka users easier access to a range of premium travel services from RWS, including accommodations, entertainment attractions, dining, and integrated travel packages on a single platform.

Baidi Li, Vice President of Commercial Traveloka, said Singapore remains one of Indonesian travellers’ favorite foreign destinations. The high search volume for attractions in the Resorts World Sentosa area is one of the main reasons for strengthening the partnership. ‘Not only does Traveloka help travellers to travel, we understand the preferences and needs of travellers even before they make decisions,’ Li said on Wednesday (20/5). He noted that the search volume for Resorts World Sentosa attractions in February 2026 doubled compared with the same period last year. Universal Studios Singapore and Singapore Oceanarium were the two most searched attractions for Traveloka users throughout this year. ‘The high interest is a key driver for this partnership. By combining Traveloka’s AI-based recommendation capability with RWS’s world-class products, we convert interest into bookings.’

The travel trend now shifting: Baidi believes travellers—especially young Indonesian families—are not just seeking destinations but practical, integrated, family-friendly travel experiences. Through this collaboration, Traveloka users will receive benefits such as exclusive offers, personalised travel recommendations based on user preferences, and ease of booking flights, hotels, attractions, and entertainment in one service.

Indonesia itself is described as one of three priority markets for Resorts World Sentosa. In addition to Universal Studios Singapore, Indonesian travellers are increasingly showing interest in integrated travel experiences that combine entertainment, dining, shopping, and recreation in one area.

Acting Senior Vice President Resort Sales and Marketing RWS, Jenny Wang, says the partnership with Traveloka is a strategic move to expand market reach in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. ‘Indonesia has always been an important market for RWS, and the partnership with Traveloka allows us to extend our reach in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.’ She added that Traveloka’s user data support and platform scale will help RWS offer more personalised services to travellers. ‘By leveraging a strong user base and Traveloka’s understanding of consumer behaviour, we can offer travellers a more seamless and personalised way to enjoy all RWS offerings.’

SUMMER OF TREASURES CAMPAIGN: This collaboration is part of the ‘Summer of Treasures’ promotion running from 29 May to 30 August 2026. The program will be available on the Traveloka platform and offers various summer entertainment activities in the Resorts World Sentosa area. Visitors can enjoy a range of attractions—from pop culture experiences, sustainability-themed festivals, world football legends shows, to premium dining and lodging packages.

Clemen, Assistant Vice President Regional Sales and Marketing at Resorts World Sentosa, says they want to ensure all Indonesian tourists have a different experience when visiting Singapore. ‘We want every Indonesian traveller visiting Singapore to have a reason to visit RWS and to create their own experience.’ The upcoming June school holidays are viewed as a big opportunity for Singapore’s tourism industry to attract more travellers from Indonesia. Traveloka and RWS are optimistic the collaboration will strengthen regional tourist flows while supporting growth of the experience-based travel sector in Southeast Asia.”
