Status of Three Suspects Revoked, Roy Suryo and Others Opt to Proceed in Jokowi Diploma Case
Police have stopped the investigation into three suspects—Eggie Sudjana, Damai Hari Lubis, and Rismon Sianipar—in the case alleging a fake diploma for the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Police emphasise that the investigation process against the other five suspects continues.
“However, the investigation process against the other suspects will continue until the trial stage in court,” said Dirkrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Iman Imannudin, to reporters on Friday (17/4/2026).
Iman stated that Roy Suryo and his group have chosen to take the case to court. Currently, the case files for Roy Suryo and the other four suspects have been handed over to the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office.
“We have established two clusters of these suspects. Some have chosen the restorative justice mechanism for resolution and to satisfy their sense of justice, and that has already occurred,” said Iman.
“Others have chosen the judicial process, so we are still submitting the case files to the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. Hopefully, legal certainty will be obtained soon,” he added.
For information, in this case, Polda Metro Jaya has designated a total of eight people as suspects, one of whom is former Menpora Roy Suryo. In its development, Eggie Sudjana, Damai Hari Lubis, and Rismon Sianipar submitted a request for RJ to the police.
The police then followed up on the request, ultimately stopping their cases. Thus, five suspects remain in the case.
In the first cluster, there are suspects Kurnia Tri Royani, Rizal Fadilah, and Rustam Effendi. Meanwhile, in the second cluster, there are suspects Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tiasuma or dr Tifa.
