Statue left in neglect
DENPASAR, Bali: Bali Governor Ida Bagus Oka deplored the condition of the Ngurah Rai statue close to the airport because of its neglectful state.
He urged the Denpasar authorities to take care of the statue and its surrounding park, Antara reported.
He said he has received complaints from the public that some of the porcelain has chipped away from the statue, that the park had not been properly cared for and that sometimes it is used by lovers in the evening.
This is in sharp contrast to the Gatotkaca Seraya statue which stands to the west, Oka said. (emb)
