State Secretary's Response to Cabinet Reshuffle Rumours: None Yet
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has revealed that there are no plans for President Prabowo Subianto to carry out a cabinet reshuffle in the near future.
“There are none,” said Prasetyo when confirmed in the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Although Prabowo has no plans for a cabinet reshuffle in the near future, Prasetyo said that evaluations of the members of the Cabinet Merah Putih are continuously conducted on various occasions.
“Yes, on various occasions, we always convey that if the question is whether there is an evaluation of the cabinet’s performance, the cabinet’s ranks? Certainly. That happens every time, every day, every moment, evaluations certainly take place,” he said.
Prasetyo explained the context of the evaluations conducted by Prabowo, which relate to the completion of tasks that have been assigned. However, according to him, the results of these evaluations are not yet a benchmark for efforts to reshuffle the cabinet.
“Evaluation in the context of whether we all as assistants to the President have been able to carry out the tasks from him. But that does not mean that every evaluation is then interpreted as always leading to changes or a reshuffle. It’s not like that either,” he said.
Previously, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya spoke about the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle. This was conveyed by Teddy in response to questions about the reshuffle. Not answering at length, he merely asked the media to wait.
“Just wait,” said Teddy in the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Furthermore, Teddy emphasised that matters of cabinet reshuffle are the domain of President Prabowo Subianto.
“The President will explain it later,” said Teddy.
