State Secretary's Heart Races Watching Air Manoeuvres for Independence Day

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi praised the pilots involved in the aerial display training ahead of the Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. He admitted to feeling his heart race while watching the manoeuvres, particularly when three helicopters flew in close formation. ‘We are quite proud because we need to realise that flying fighter jets is not a light matter,’ he said after attending the evaluation of the rehearsal on Wednesday. Prasetyo emphasised that the pilots were risking their safety, but performed with full pride and professionalism. He added that the capabilities of Indonesia’s human resources must continue to be supported with adequate equipment to carry out their duties. The aerial display is being prepared as part of the 81st Independence Day commemoration in Jakarta on Monday, 17th August.
