State Secretary Says Some Items from Palace Warehouse to Be Displayed in Museums

The government plans to entrust some of the items stored in the palace warehouse to museums for display. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the palace is currently cataloguing items that have been accumulating in the warehouse for a long time. The items are being assessed to determine which ones have historical value and are no longer needed. This was conveyed during a working meeting with Commission XIII of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. “Especially items in the form of paintings and ceramics that have historical value which cannot be valued with money and must be preserved,” Prasetyo said. Prasetyo mentioned that this plan has received approval from President Prabowo Subianto and is being carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. “Perhaps some of these items will be entrusted or displayed in several of our national museums. At the Gajah Museum, or more easily, the National Gallery,” he explained. He stated that entrusting the items to museums aims to keep them well-preserved and allow the public to enjoy them. “It also serves as part of education so that they can be enjoyed or viewed by the entire community,” concluded the Gerindra Party politician.
