State Secretary Says Some App Operators Need Disciplining Over 8% Ojol Fee
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s policy regarding an 8 per cent deduction for online motorcycle taxis (ojol) has been in effect since 1 July 2026. However, Prasetyo noted that some application operators still need to be disciplined.
‘The important thing is that the President’s order regarding the 92 per cent and 8 per cent tariff split has been implemented on the ground. The National Ojol Coalition friends also conveyed that it was applied as of 1 July,’ Pras said after meeting with House of Representatives (DPR) leaders at the DPR RI building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026).
Although the regulation is already in force, Pras stated that there are still some application operators who have not complied. He assured that the government will discipline these operators.
‘Although indeed there are some application operators that we need to bring into line regarding their discipline,’ Pras said.
Furthermore, Pras said there are still a number of aspects that need to be perfected in the implementation of the policy on the ground.
‘As I mentioned earlier, it has been in effect, even though there is no presidential regulation yet. But there are still some things, what’s the term, the realisation on the ground that needs to be improved, needs to be perfected,’ he stated.
