State Secretary Reveals Reason Prabowo Summoned Attorney General, Police Chief, and Defence Minister, Stresses Importance of National Stability
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has revealed the reason President Prabowo Subianto summoned several high-ranking state officials, including the Attorney General, the National Police Chief, and the Minister of Defence, on Saturday evening. According to Prasetyo, the meeting was held so that the President could obtain direct reports on the latest developments.
The explanation was delivered by Prasetyo when met at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. He stressed that as head of state, the President needs to receive comprehensive information regarding ongoing dynamics so that the government can take appropriate steps.
“Yes, because there was an incident, of course he wanted to get a report,” Prasetyo said. The statement also addressed various speculations regarding the agenda behind the President’s summoning of law enforcement officials and the Minister of Defence over the weekend.
Prasetyo also responded to questions about the President’s stance, which is said to be against causing public unrest. He stated that this message is not only related to one specific issue but is a principle of the government in maintaining a conducive national condition.
He said the President has repeatedly reminded the entire cabinet about the importance of maintaining stability as one of the main requirements to support economic development. “Actually, if we talk about the issue of unrest, it is not just about this one matter. The President has repeatedly conveyed to us, the ministers, that a requirement for building the economy is stability,” Prasetyo said.
According to him, stability is a crucial foundation so that the government’s various development programmes can run well. Therefore, it is hoped that every issue that arises can be handled according to legal mechanisms without triggering unrest that could potentially disrupt national conditions.
The meeting was held amid public attention on the development of the case involving Febrie Adriansyah. In that case, Febrie has been named a suspect for alleged corruption and money laundering.
