State Secretary Reveals Contents of 2-Hour Meeting Between Prabowo and Megawati, What Was Discussed?

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has revealed the contents of the meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the fifth President of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, which took place a few days ago at Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta.

Prasetyo explained that numerous matters were discussed during the meeting, which lasted approximately two hours.

“There were many, many things. The meeting lasted almost two hours, and a lot was discussed,” Prasetyo told reporters on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

In the meeting, Prabowo and Megawati exchanged views on various matters. The two also shared experiences as national leaders.

“After all, Ibu Mega has also served as Vice President and as President. Naturally, she has experiences, although we all know that each era and time has different challenges,” he stated.

“But as a leader, it is certainly very good to be able to provide input to each other and share experiences for the progress of the nation and state,” Prasetyo added.

When asked whether Prabowo and Megawati also discussed geopolitical issues in the meeting, Prasetyo did not deny it.

“Yes (geopolitical issues were discussed),” he concluded.

It was previously reported that President Prabowo Subianto received the fifth President of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, attended by House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani and Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

Based on a post from President Prabowo’s official Instagram account (@prabowo), the meeting was held to continue the rapport among national leaders.

“On the 29th day of Ramadan ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, I received the fifth President of Indonesia, Ibu Hj. Megawati Soekarnoputri, at Merdeka Palace. This meeting continues the rapport among national leaders,” the post read.

In the uploaded photos, Megawati can be seen wearing blue-themed batik. Prabowo personally welcomed Megawati’s arrival at the outer porch of Merdeka Palace. The President appeared to guide Megawati while walking into the inner area of the palace.

In another photo, Prabowo and Megawati sat on the same sofa in one of the rooms at Merdeka Palace, with Dasco and Puan also seated nearby as attendants. The meeting took place in a warm and familial atmosphere.
