State Secretary Remembers Try Sutrisno: Outstanding Son of the Nation, Devoted His Life to the State

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, representing the government, expressed profound condolences on the passing of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno. He described Sutrisno as one of Indonesia’s finest sons who had devoted himself entirely to serving the nation and state.

“We naturally feel deep sorrow. He was one of Indonesia’s greatest sons who had dedicated himself to sacrificing his entire life for the nation and state,” Prasetyo told reporters on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Prasetyo called upon the public to offer prayers for Try Sutrisno and urged the younger generation to emulate his exemplary contributions to the nation.

“Let us offer prayers so that he is forgiven for all his sins and his deeds are accepted, especially as he has been called to meet Allah the Almighty in this blessed month outside of Ramadan,” he said.

“Let us, as the younger generation and future leaders, follow the example that he has set before us in providing the finest service to the nation, state, and Indonesian people,” Prasetyo added.

According to reports, Try Sutrisno passed away at RSPAD Gatot Subroto Hospital at 06:58 WIB. His remains are planned to be brought to his residence on Purwakarta Street, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
