State Secretary: President Thanks Perry Warjiyo for His Service
The Indonesian government has officially received the resignation letter of Perry Warjiyo as Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the President accepted Warjiyo’s decision, which was submitted on Sunday (26/7/2026).
“The President has accepted the resignation of Mr Perry Warjiyo. This is accompanied by the highest gratitude and appreciation for his dedication over approximately seven years of leading Bank Indonesia,” Prasetyo said when met at the BI Building in Central Jakarta on Monday (27/7/2026).
Prasetyo stated that the government will subsequently process the issuance of a Presidential Decree regarding the honourable discharge of Perry Warjiyo as Governor of BI. In accordance with statutory provisions, he continued, the position of Governor of BI will temporarily be held by Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti.
“Furthermore, in accordance with the Bank Indonesia Law, the position of Governor of Bank Indonesia will automatically be held by the Senior Deputy Governor, who will subsequently carry out all duties as acting governor. It is noted that the Senior Deputy Governor in question is Ibu Destry Damayanti,” Prasetyo said.
