State Secretary: President Routinely Monitors Government Programme Implementation
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto continues to routinely monitor and evaluate programmes run by ministries and agencies.
“So he, as Head of State and Head of Government, indeed routinely monitors and evaluates all programmes across all ministries,” Prasetyo Hadi told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday.
However, Prasetyo noted that the monitoring and evaluation do not always point towards specific actions, but are more about ensuring programmes are being implemented properly by the relevant ministries and agencies.
On that occasion, he also said oversight was not only being conducted on the Free Nutritious Meal Programme run by the National Nutrition Agency, which is currently in the spotlight following the detention of three of its former leaders by the Attorney General’s Office for alleged corruption.
The President had previously stated, during the National Consolidation of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme held by the National Nutrition Agency in Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, that the ranks of the Development Finance Comptroller, the Corruption Eradication Commission, and the Attorney General’s Office could be reinforced to ensure the programme’s implementation runs well.
Regarding this matter, Prasetyo conveyed that oversight also applies to other priority programmes and that personnel reinforcement can be undertaken to achieve this.
“Indeed, our spirit is that we truly want to try as hard as possible to fight this culture of corruption,” said the State Secretary.
Prasetyo stated that the war on corruption has been called for by President Prabowo Subianto since he was inaugurated as President on 20 October 2024, and the anti-corruption stance has been reiterated by the President on various occasions.
“On various occasions, he always conveys that we should all realise this, to fix our respective institutions and ourselves. That is the meaning behind his constant reminders to all of us,” said Prasetyo Hadi.
