State Secretary: Prabowo Asks Former BGN Chief Nanik Deyang to Join Supervisory Board

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto requested former National Nutrition Agency (BGN) head Nanik Sudaryati Deyang to become the chair of the BGN’s supervisory board. He made the statement to reporters at the Nusantara III Building, Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026).

“It was a request from the President, considering her experience, which is still deemed valuable to assist the BGN,” Prasetyo said.

Prasetyo acknowledged that the current legal basis for the BGN, Presidential Regulation No. 83 of 2024, only includes a nomenclature for a steering committee, not a supervisory board. When asked whether the government would revise the regulation to accommodate the new position, he suggested a formal revision might not be necessary if the functions are essentially the same.

“We will see. The meaning could be the same, whether it is a Steering Committee or a Supervisory Board, in terms of carrying out its duties. We should not get caught up in the terminology of whether it is a steering committee or a supervisory board; what matters is the function,” Prasetyo said. “If the nomenclature in the presidential regulation already stipulates a Steering Committee in its organisational structure, and if its duties align with what we intend, then there is no issue,” the Gerindra Party politician continued.
